Shawna Pops has trained in dance and movement since the age of three in various styles such as Hip Hop, African, Jazz, Tap, Clown Dancing (“Krumping”), etc. The LA native has always been bold and courageous and went headfirst into the dance industry. She started her professional dance training in 2013 at renowned dance studios, among them being International Dance Academy (IDA), Debbie Reynolds Dance Studio, Millennium Dance Complex, Lula Washington Dance Theatre, etc. She has also booked professional dancing and choreography gigs with the likes of Nicki Minaj, Tyga, Ty Dolla$, 2 Chainz, Becky G, etc. She also appeared on VH1 as a featured dancer.

In 2014, she created her own dance brands - Seductive Approach and TwerkItUp. Seductive Approach aims to erase the stigma around women being free to dance “seductively” and affords them the opportunity to be comfortable in the skin they’re in. TwerkItUp provides a high energy full body cardio workout focusing on Shawna Pop’s signature twerk techniques. Both classes empower women to own their confidence and sexuality and feel powerful in and out of a stiletto. Her twerk techniques were televised on Bad Girls Club in a season 16 episode that she appeared on. She currently teaches both these dance programs at Studio 216 and her resume of previous studios where she instructed include IDA, Romance and Dance Pole Studio, Secrets Pole Studio, Evolve Pole Dance Studio, Jagged Vertical Dance Fitness, and Danceline LA.

Although she exclusively teaches her programs at Studio 216, she has plans to go on the move and tour the world teaching her styles to women everywhere. As much as she wants to be able to reach every woman personally, she knows that these classes are bigger than her and intends to partner with studios so that the Seductive Approach and Twerk It Up programs can be offered by trained professionals who can properly guide others in her absence. She has become a fearless dancer and business owner who continues building on her skills and her brand. She also wants to connect with as many women as possible to help advise and mentor them in their journeys to build their own successful brands. Shawna is just getting started and doesn’t plan on stopping any time soon. She has more in store and knows that it is a difficult way to the top but - “It’s All About The Approach”!
